KL-6
Krebs von den Lungen 6 (KL-6) is a mucin-like glycoprotein. KL-6 over-expression in regenerating type II epithelial cells lead to increased concentration in serum and is related to the presence of fibrotic lung lesions. KL-6 has been widely studied and used as a diagnostic and prognostic biomarker for Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) in Asia. Data generated within European populations to evaluate its value is scarce.
